IPL Photorejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photorejuvenation represents an exciting procedure designed to produce younger and healthier looking skin. Based on studies performed worldwide, and published in peer-reviewed medical journals, we know that IPL can help you achieve a younger and fresher look beyond what face creams can do. As the name suggests, IPL is an intense broadband of light that is applied to the skin to treat several skin conditions.

Who benefits from IPL Photorejuvenation?

As most of us age we begin to see small but visible signs of sun damage appearing in our complexion. This may include freckles, broken capillaries, dark spots, a blotchy skin color and redness of the face and neck. IPL can be used to treat these vascular redness, pigmented brown spots, sun damage, and collagen structure all at once.

If you wish to reduce redness, pigmentation and wrinkles non-invasively and relatively quickly, the IPL may be for you.

How long does each treatment take?

A full-face treatment takes less than 10 minutes. Fairly dramatic improvements can now be accomplished with little or no downtime and with very minimal discomfort. A total of 3-5 treatments spaced one month apart is recommended for optimal results.

Does it hurt?

IPL treatment using the Ellipse®I2PL hurts slightly. Some patients choose to have a numbing cream applied 1 hour before the treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

Transient redness and swelling are expected. These usually resolve rapidly and you can resume your normal activities immediately after. Some may experience small brown crust (much like coffee grounds) for a few days. Subsequently your skin will look smoother and fresher.
