OUR DERMATOLOGISTS

Our doctors are recognised specialists by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. They provide expert clinical services covering all areas of dermatology. They are also educators of fellow doctors as the Specialist Skin Clinic organises Continuing Medical Educational events regularly.

Dr Cheong Wai Kwong MBBS(S’pore), MRCP(UK), FRCP(Edin), Dip Ven(London), FAMS(Dermatology)

Dr. Cheong has been practising dermatology since 1986 in various hospitals including Middle Road Hospital and National Skin Centre in Singapore, and in the St John’s Dermatology Centre in London before going into private practice at the Specialist Skin Clinic in 1995. He is a visiting doctor at the National Skin Centre. Besides treating general skin problems in both children and adults, he has special interest and expertise in the treatment of psoriasis, acne and acne scars and the use of ultraviolet radiation (phototherapy) for treating skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo. He is a councillor of the International Psoriasis Council and a medical advisor to the Psoriasis Association of Singapore. He lectures regularly in local and regional scientific meetings.

Dr Cheong is experienced with the use of various lasers and IPL for treating acne, acne scars, pigment problems such as freckles and age spots and removal of tattoos and birthmarks as well as Thermage for non-invasive face lift.

Dr Khoo Boo Peng MBBS(S’pore), MRCP(UK), FAMS (Dermatology)

Dr Khoo graduated from the National University of Singapore medical school and obtained his post-graduate MRCP in the United Kingdom. Since then he embarked on his dermatology career that saw him working in our local institutions namely the National Skin Centre, Raffles Hospital, Changi General Hospital and Kandang Kerbau Hospital paediatric dermatology clinic.
 
He received further training under the world-renowned Dr David Goldberg of Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York & New Jersey, and Dr Robert Weiss of Maryland Laser Skin and Vein Institute. His special field of interest lies in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatments (including Botox and skin fillers) and skin laser treatments for aging skin, facial pigmentation and acne scars.

Dr Phay Ken Lin
MBBS(S’pore), M Med(S’pore), Dip Derm(London), FAMS (Dermatology)

Dr. Phay Ken-Lin graduated from the University of Singapore medical school and later obtained her Masters in Internal Medicine. She then proceeded to train in dermatology at the Middle Road Hospital (Singapore) and the University of London and obtained her Diploma in Dermatology from the University of London. She is also an accredited Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Chapter of Dermatologists.

Her practice encompasses all aspects of general dermatology pertaining to children and adults. In addition, she has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and the treatment of acne and acne scars. She is conversant in the use of different treatment modalities for aesthetic purposes including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, various types of lasers, intense pulsed light (IPL) and Thermage.

Dr T Thirumoorthy
MBBS(Malaya), FRCP(London), FRCP(Glasgow), FAMS (Dermatology)

Dr T Thirumoorthy graduated with MBBS (Malaya) in 1972. He completed his internal medicine training and achieved the MRCP (United Kingdom) in 1976. He did his dermatology training in London and Singapore. He gained admission to the Roll of Specialists in Dermatology of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1981.
